The Patient Participation Group (PPG) was founded in February 1996 and has played a key role in representing not only the patients but in supporting the practice. All patients of Chet Valley Medical Practice are regarded as members of the PPG and are represented by a committee elected at the AGM held in May.
As a group, we meet with practice staff every three months, or more frequently if needed, to explore how we can enhance services and foster a positive relationship between the practice, its patients, and the wider community. Our goal is to improve two way communication and address the changes we, as patients, desire. The PPG aims to include views from as wide a selection of patients as possible, from occasional service users to those with long term needs.
We also plan to reintroduce informational sessions on various health topics with specialist speakers, open to all patients who wish to attend.
Fund raising
Over the years we have purchased numerous items / equipment that benefit patients and staff at the surgery, this is only possible via fund raising or bequests. Fund raising events are organised from time to time and bequests are accepted for the Surgery Equipment Fund
