Dispensary
The Practice has operated a Dispensary since 1997 and on average dispenses 9500 prescriptions per month. It serves those patients who live more than one mile from the local chemist shop.
The Dispensary opening times are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12pm, 2pm to 6pm.
The Dispensary is closed between 12pm and 2pm.
To contact the Dispensary via telephone, please call 01508 520222 and select option 3. The dispensary phone line is available Monday to Friday for medication queries between 10am-12pm. Please note, outside of these times, we have a voicemail service in place. Please leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
The Dispensary asks for 5 full working days to process your prescription requests. Please refrain from coming to the practice or calling the dispensary telephone line to check if your medication is ready. This will enable patients and health professionals with queries to access our service.
Boots Loddon asks for 7 clear working days. Requests for items that are not on repeat may take longer.
Ordering Repeat Prescriptions
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
- Using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- using the GP online system: SystmOne
- by hand – pop your repeat request in the external surgery post box
- by post – send your repeat slip by post and as soon as it arrives, we’ll be happy to process
Please note we are unable to receive third party prescription requests.
Collecting your prescription

Questions about your prescription

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
Go to Medicines A to Z (nhs.uk)
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:
- fill out an ask a prescription question form
Medication reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
You can request an appropriate appointment for your medication review instead, to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

What to do with old medicines
Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
About pharmacists
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff.
