Urgent Appointments

The Practice operates a Same Day Clinic for patients requiring urgent treatment. At the time of booking you will be asked to provide brief details of your problem so that the most appropriate clinician can be accessed. The aim is to ensure that all patients needing urgent treatment are seen on the day. Please be mindful that being an urgent clinic there is a possibility you may have a short wait.

You can request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times.

Routine Appointments

Routine appointment for a new problem

A routine appointment with the doctor of your choice can be made up to four weeks in advance, subject to availability.

If you have more than one problem to discuss, please inform the Receptionist at the time of booking so we can allocate enough time for your appointment.

Routine Appointment for Follow Up

The Doctor will either book this during your consultation or you may be asked to speak to reception to arrange this. Please make sure that a follow up appointment has been made before you leave the premises (subject to availability). Please see your usual doctor or the doctor you consulted with regards the problem.

Enhanced Access

Our Practice offers Enhanced Access Clinics for patients, to a range of healthcare professionals. Working within a group of nine local practices, we offer a range of appointments each weekday evening between 6:30pm and 8pm and during selected times at the weekend. Please telephone the surgery for more details during normal opening hours. Please note that this is not a walk-in service and therefore you will need to have a pre-booked appointment beforehand. Access is provided via an intercom system to those patients with a pre-booked appointment only

Cancelling or Changing an Appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can allocate the slot to someone else. Appointments cancelled within a minimum of one hours notice may be recorded as a Did Not Attend.

To cancel your appointment:

  • Use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • Use the GP online system: SystmOne
  • Telephone us on 01508 520222 select option 0 to cancel. This facility is active 24 hours a day. You will be asked to leave your name, date of birth, appointment date and time and reason for cancellation

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help when we are closed – use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured or if their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs

Home Visits

These are intended only for patients who are unable to attend the practice because of their medical condition. Where possible, a home visit should be requested before 10am.

Please be prepared to give brief details of the problem so that you can be given appropriate priority. It is possible that the On the Day Team will contact you by phone prior to the visit, in order to access medical need and urgency.
