Blood Test and Urine Results
These tests usually take at least two to three working days to come back from the laboratory. The doctor requesting the test should inform you whether to make a further appointment or whether you need to contact the practice for the results.
The result will have been read by the doctor and instructions given to the nurse or receptionist as to what action is required. The receptionist will only be able to inform you of the result and is not qualified to discuss the result with you. The practice will only contact you with a result if there is a problem and not if the result is normal.
Cervical Screening Results
All patients are informed of their results by letter.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to, unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
