Our New Appointment System Latest Update

Thank you for your feedback following both the PPG patient survey, and the national survey. The results highlighted that you rate our care highly however we could improve patient access at the surgery. We understand that getting the care you need, when you need it matters, and it’s something we take very seriously.

To help improve access for all our patients, we will be adopting a system in September called Total Triage. This approach means that every request for care — whether it comes by phone, online, or in person — is first reviewed by our clinical team. This helps us to:

  • Ensure everyone is seen by the right person, at the right time – whether that’s a GP, nurse, pharmacist, or another professional.
  • Prioritise urgent cases quickly, so patients who need help the most get it first.
  • Offer more flexible care options, including phone or video consultations when appropriate, reducing the need to travel or wait.
  • Maximise appointment availability.

We know that change can take time to get used to, but early results from our new website shows that more patients are being helped more quickly, and we’re able to make better use of our skilled team to support you.

We’re committed to making care more accessible, and Total Triage should ensure safe and personalised care for everyone.

Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us improve.
