Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings.

The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears. For more information, please visit our Clinics and Services page.

Practice Outreach Nurse

Louise is a member of the practice team, whose role is to support the GPs on a daily basis with the management of patients in the community either face to face or telephone support. Her work involves following up housebound patients for example following discharge from hospital. Louise works closely with both internal and external clinical staff to deliver high quality nursing to manage patients who have complex and high risk conditions.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. If you would like to request results, please use our Test Results triage.
