Consultations are by appointment and can be booked at reception or over the telephone during opening hours or online via the above link.

  • Same Day Appointments - The Practice operates a Same Day clinic for patients requiring urgent treatment.At the time of booking you will be asked to provide brief details of your problem so that the most appropriate clinician can be accessed.The aim is to ensure that all patients needing urgent treatment are seen on the day. Please be mindful that being an URGENT clinic there is a possibility you may have a short wait.
  • Routine Appointment for a new problemA routine appointment with the doctor of your choice can be made up to four weeks in advance, subject to availability.  Telephone 01508 520222 and select option 1.  The appointment is for 10 minutes; however, if you have several matters to discuss please ask for a double appointment.
  • Routine Appointment for follow-upThe doctor will either book this during your consultation or you may be asked to report to reception.  Please make sure that a follow-up appointment has been made before you leave the premises (subject to availability).  Please see your usual doctor or the doctor you consulted with the problem.
  • Extended Hours - The Practice offers extended surgery hours every Thursday between 18.30 - 20.30pm. This service offers ROUTINE PRE-BOOKABLE APPOINTMENTS ONLY.  The Practice premises is locked and therefore access is via an intercom system to those patients with a pre-booked appointment.  Please note that this is NOT A WALK-IN SERVICE and the Practice is NOT contactable by telephone during these hours. Please note the dispensary is closed. 

       The out-of-hours service continues to provide urgent/emergency cover.

    

     

Making an Appointment with the Practice Nurses

A routine appointment with the Practice Nurse can be made up to four weeks in advance.  Some problems may require more than ten minutes; please ask the receptionist if you are in doubt.  If you have a long-term condition (eg, diabetes, coronary heart disease) the Practice will contact you by letter or telephone for review.  Please try to attend. There are usually two nurses on duty at any one time, accepting appointments from 08:30 - 12:30 and 13:30 - 18:00.

Making an Appointment with the Health Care Assistant

The Health Care Assistant carries out procedures such as blood pressure checks, new patient checks, hearing tests, new cardiovascular health checks, height and weight checks, urine tests, ECG's and spirometry tests.  Please ask the receptionist for details.

The Health Care Assistant carries out blood tests daily.  If you have been asked to attend for a blood test please book an appointment at reception or by telephone.  The doctor will indicate if the blood test is urgent/or needs to be carried out in the next two working days.

Chaperones

A doctor, nurse or a patient may ask for a chaperone for any procedure or examination for which they consider if appropriate.  You may choose to be accompanied by a relative or friend or you will be offered the services of an appropriate member of practice staff.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.  Appointments cancelled within a minimum of one hours notice will be recorded as a DID NOT ATTEND. Please telephone 01508 520222 and select option 0 to cancel an appointment. This facility is active 24 hours a day.  You will be asked to leave your name, date of birth, appointment date and time and reason for cancellation.
